Federal Europe

Federal Europe

Political power is granted by an association of people for the purpose of administering the association.

Johannes Althusius

Johannes Althusius is best known as the founder of federalism. He expressed his ideas in his work 'Politica Methodice Digesta, Atque Exemplis Sacris et Profanis Illustrata' (1602).

  • Why do we have the United States of America and why don't we have the United States of Europe?
  • Why have the Americans learned from European philosophers and why didn't European politicians do this?
  • Why aren't European citizens not aware of the strength of a federal organisation, while 40% of the world population is already living in federations?

It all starts with knowing what federalism is all about:
'Europe will be a federation, or will not be!'
